almost 11 pounds of babies...

35 weeks, 5 days. That's where we are. But I don't think we're going to make it to 38 weeks... well that's at least what the doc said. Physically I'm fine with anytime now (good Lord these babies are getting heavy!) but mentally, well that's a different story completely...

So. As of yesterday the babies are measuring at 5 pounds 5 ounces (Pinkaliscious) and 5 pounds 10 ounces (Rhonda). Considering Mary Beth herself was only 5 pounds 9 ounces when she was born, I think we're doing quite well!

It's been a while since we took some photos, so here ya go!

 WHOLE lotta belly there!
 bumper bellies!
 whoa!!
 oy!
she's so dang cute. can you blame us for wanting more of her?
bob tried to tell her that we're really not naming them pinkaliscous and rhonda...

belly pic, belly pic, belly pic...

That was for Kim... who asked for a belly pic, oh, maybe 100 times on facebook last night. So here are some belly pics! We're at 30 weeks right now, aiming for 8 more! And of course Mary Beth got in on the action. She wanted to show you her belly too...

giggles

Last weekend I was feeling a little under the weather (ok, a LOT!), so Mary Beth was entertaining me as I rested. She is such a performer - and was singing to herself and the mirror. Here's her version of ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle. She sings it all the time but must have gotten stagefright with the camera on. I'll forgive her - but only because those giggles are so darn cute!!!

almost 25 weeks but...

...looking bigger than (or even with) 34 weeks with Mary Beth. That CAN'T be a good sign of what's to come! Pictures below. And in an ironic move, I'm wearing the same shirt in the photos three years apart. Proof that even the belly can fit in the Gamma Chi Delta Alumnae Association Charter Member shirt (woo woo!)

So first is me now:

Lovely. And now a blast from early 2009. Coincidentally we were at the golf course/hotel where Bob was about to get transferred. You know, because moving one month before giving birth is always ideal...

This is going to get interesting...

keeping it together?

We've been so busy lately (OK, Bob has been really busy and I've been trying to relax on the bed when I get home from work...) that we've been slacking on the whole babies' bump photo realm.

But seriously, it's getting out of hand. I understand Mom not wanting pictures taken now. I'm H.U.G.E. and growing more every day. Did I mention that we're aiming for a due date THREE MONTHS FROM TOMORROW?? Oh lawd...

Anyway, here's a picture from this morning here in the office. You can see part of the bump. and the tips of my shoes. Which I'm glad YOU can see because I can't see them unless I lean over. A lot. I had a panic attack this morning that I left the house this morning with shoes that didn't match each other. But apparently I have it more together than I think I do sometimes.

And yes, that's a Diet Coke on my desk. And if you try to take it from me I will cut you.  :-)

happy birthday, mary beth!

Dear Mary Beth,

Today you turn 3 years old. I can't believe this is possible! It seems like just yesterday we were on our way to the hospital to welcome you into this world. And you were SO TINY at 5 pounds, 9 ounces. But you were only tiny in weight -- your personality shined through your smiles (and screams) right away.

You're so inquisitive now, and definitely have earned the title Miss Independent. You want to do EVERYTHING on your own, from turning on light switches to opening your cheese sticks. You LOVE going to get ice cream (which some day when you're way older we may tell you is actually frozen yogurt) and Auntie Kim and Nana are your favorite people in the world. Outside of Mommy and Daddy, of course...

Your life is going to change so much soon with the arrival of your brother and sister. Right now you're super excited, but we'll see if that changes once you hear them crying and taking all of our attention! We promise that we will try our best to carve out Mary Beth time when we can continue to jump on the bed, tickle each other and run off to have "Chick-il-a" time together. And we'll still take your names of Pinkaliscious and Rhonda as considerations for their names, but I'm not promising anything...

Thank you for being such a sunshine to our lives. YOU ROCK!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Oh goodie...

I told Mary Beth to put her pants on.

So she put them on her arms.

Seems you have to be REALLY specific with her. And seems she's been hanging out with Grandpa too much in her dreams for her to figure out the semantics game.

Oh goodie... ;-)

No, he really does not...

Mary Beth proved that no, Orbit does not like wearing bow barrettes in his hair. And "in his hair" means on his ears. Poor cat may run away when the twins get here...

BREAKING NEWS: BABY NAMES

Mary Beth: "The girl's name is Pinkaliscious. And the boy's name is Rhonda."

Probably not...

back by popular demand...

Seriously, who would have thought that my belly would have been the topic of so much discussion. I guess it's my own fault for taking so many pictures last time. So below is me at 20 weeks with the twinkies, AND 20 weeks with Mary Beth. A little different...

twinkies, 20 weeks

Mary Beth, 20 weeks

Also back by popular demand is the appearance of the doornob. Different house, different doornob, but we'll see how close I can get to it...  :-)

congratulations, they're ...

We headed back to San Antonio this past weekend to let everyone know what the gender(s) of the twins was. Bob and I already knew because, well, there is NO way I was going to find out along with everyone else. But we didn't tell Mary Beth until the party because we knew she wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. So we told her and then let her tell the rest of the party.

Mary Beth wanted a boy and a girl.
Bob wanted anything other than two girls.
I wanted anything other than two boys.

Check out Mary Beth's reaction. (please excuse my annoying voice) Special thanks to Auntie Kim for the video work.

auntie kim's housewarming

Kim wanted us Mary Beth at her housewarming party this weekend, so we made the trek down for a long weekend. Oh, and Bob went to UTSA's inaugural football game too. Look what he missed while he was hootin' and hollerin' for the Roadrunners:

Deceiving photo since it took me over an hour to get her to nap...

BEFORE the boys jumped into the pool and it turned into a mudbath

CUPCAKE!!!

Playing with Grandpa's slot machine. I don't think anyone won money. It may be Dad's last trick...

We stopped by the fantasy football draft on Sunday and then headed to Austin to stay with Trev, Rebecca, the girls and Cannon. Um, we were there for less than an hour when this happened on their street and we FLED.

That's the Steiner Ranch fire in Austin. I think 17 houses on their street were lost completely. It was absolute mayhem. We packed everything up, Bob quickly helped Trev load up some bikes and we were outie. Very scary and I'm happy to report that the Trevelise home is still standing and just has some smoke damage. It could have been far worse. I was trying not to freak Mary Beth out, and apparently I did a good job because here she is at Rebecca's aunt's house where we fled:

Completely obvlious to the fact that Trev is 3 feet from her telling his family/friends that he probably just lost his home. Ah the life of a child.

What a weekend.

stayin' alive

What can I say... girl's got mad dancin' skills...

auntie kim!

We went to San Antonio this past weekend to get a sneak peek of Auntie Kim's new house. Oh, and for a wedding too. I think Mary Beth had a great time at both -- I'll post video of her on the dance floor later. Needless to say, I believe she was the hit of the wedding.

But she also got some quality time with her Auntie Kim and then with a swing set. And you all know how she LOVES a swingset!

Enjoy!

goofiness

We went to San Antonio this weekend and Mary  Beth loved on her Auntie Kim. This pretty much sums up the goofiness involved.
